Standards-Based Bulletin Boards

Standards-based bulletin boards are a way to showcase teaching and learning in every grade level and in our fine arts department. They are used to display the standard(s), or student expectation, as written in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). A lesson description in the form of "A Look at the Lesson" will provide an overview of the lesson. Commentary is written for each piece of work displayed on the standards-based boards. Commentary is written by the teacher and student to explain why or how the particular work meets the standard. Rubrics, artifacts such as photographs of the process, models or artistic representations of a product or experiment, charts, or graphs may be included in the display. Work examples that have met or exceeded the standard(s) will be found on the standards-based bulletin boards.

Cox's standards-based bulletin boards are located outside of each homeroom teachers's classroom. This is one way we make our teaching and learning visible. We encourage all of our visitors to view the standards-based bulletin boards.
